![]() In the old days, we had games such as Mario where the game play is very linear, and you can’t really do anything except for what you’re supposed to do. I think we’re heading more towards this style of gameplay. I’ve noticed that lately, the more popular games come from where you have a wide range of customization, from Minecraft where your whole world is basically your own version, to League of Legends, where you’re able to pick through a hundred champions to find the one you like to play, and then apply different item build paths. I think it’s this part that appeals to more and more consumers. One of the main attractions that Kerbal Space Program brings, is the ability to customize your own stations and everything. It’s a perfect game for anybody interested in space. Kerbal Space Program is an amazing game that further increased by interest in space and rocket science. The sandbox mode has everything unlocked for the player and so the player can build very weird or efficient rockets and explore the entire universe. The research comes from parts that you can put on a rocket, such as a thermometer. The player needs to collect research to unlock more complicated technology to explore deeper into space. The campaign has the player starting out with little money and basic technology. Kerbal Space Program has two modes that you can in. This game has been praised for its ability to simulate the difficulty in going to space. It’s up the player on how fast they want to go and how they try and get into an orbit around planets. The game does an amazing job of not automating many of the controls for the rocket. The player does this by building space craft to explore outer space and other planets in the solar system. Kerbal Space Program is a physics based space agency simulation game where you take on the role of building up a space agency on a fictitious planet called Kerbin. I don’t know if it’s the same type of “serious game” that was discussed in class but due to its content of real world physics and space technology I would consider it a serious game. It's just a space craft builder but has a lot of depth on how to build one and you try to reach different planets in the solar system. This week we talked about serious games and I would like to talk about one of my favorite serious games which is Kerbal Space Program. Play on PC if you're interested, an 8/10. It's clunky and hard to build your space craft. ![]() ![]() Great concept but they didn't make it console friendly. If there is anything that’s redeeming in a game of this caliber, it’s buried beneath agonizing gameplay and uneven execution in its features or theme. For scoring, I’ll be using the Gameinformer review scale and of course influenced by my personal opinions. I prefer Playstation due to their focus on narrative games. I own a PC (built by me), Xbox One X, Xbox Series X, PS3, PS4, PS5, and a Switch. Up to try any genre of games and sometimes I find something new that I didn't think I'd like. I also play a lot of racing games and use to play multiplayer games in my high school days but now that it's hard for me and my friends to find a good time to link up so now it’s rarer for me to get into a multiplayer game. Quick background on me the reviewer, I tend to like single player games that is heavy on narrative the most. But, stay away from KSP Enhanced Edition until this new fleet of bugs has been addressed. It pains me to say this, as I really enjoy the game when its working. But, as you try to complete missions a number of strange new bugs have cropped up completely ruining the experience. Picturesque backdrops for your crafts while in space. When the game is working it is wonderful. I am unable to speak to the stat of the XBox version. In the game's current state for PS4 at least it is unplayable. Eventually the current Enhanced Edition was released, and it was a whole new wor. After your save file reached a certain size the save was corrupted. From the dawn of the game's original release on consoles it was a very dark time. Many times breaking more than what was fixed. Exploration, creativity, problem solving, it really lets you do a lot of things as you build rockets, planes, rovers, submarines, and space crafts to try and reach different planets and moons in the Kerbal system. First of all, I'd like to say KSP is a fantastic game! I really enjoy it.
